ISA Islamic School

Always striving for knowledge, faith and morality

Education is of paramount importance in Islam. Its pursuit is an obligation on every Muslim, male and female.

Updates on ISA Islamic School >

Our Prophet (SAS) says:

"The scholars are the heirs of the Prophets. The Prophets do not leave behind an inheritance of gold and silver; rather they leave behind the inheritance of knowledge. Whoever acquires knowledge, acquires a lot of wealth. "

Thus, he commands us to pursue education

Acquire knowledge! It enables the possessor to distinguish right from wrong: it illuminates the path to Heaven. It is our friend in the desert, our society in solitude, our companion when friendless and armor against enemies.

Therefore, the establishment of a superior educational institution is also obligatory on the Muslim community, in order to preserve faith, human dignity and morality and stimulate love for learning. The secular nature of the public educational system is almost completely devoid of values and moral fiber, thus often resulting in Muslim children losing their Islamic identity and values.

The establishment of ISA Islamic School in 2002, as a full-fledged Islamic school, was a reward from Allah (SWT) that was sought after by a handful of dedicated Muslim brothers and sisters. They were aware of the tremendous need for such an institution and undertook to make their dream a reality. Alhamdulillah! It was also a blessing to have a community, which shared this vision, as well as so many concerned parents who were desperately looking for an alternative, that responded with such enthusiasm and support.

ISA has been serving the Muslim children mainly from Georgetown, East and West Demerara for the past five years. There are presently more than 470 students benefiting from the institution, which implements a full academic and Islamic Studies program.

ISA's doors are opened to all students regardless of race, color or religion. We live in a plural society and firmly believe in practicing tolerance. In fact, we are heartened by the response from non-Muslim parents, who choose ISA for their children's education and moral upbringing. In this respect, conviction is firmly rooted in the command of Allah (SWT) when He says:

O Mankind! We have created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, so that you may know each other. Indeed the best of you is the one who has the best conduct. Verily, Allah is Knowledgeable, Aware. (40:13)

Both our faculty and student population are multi-ethnic. We exist and function as ONE big Muslim family at ISA.

Our goal is to implement and devise teaching strategies that will encourage students to develop through their natural curiosity and to explore their interest; enrich their identity; develop their abilities to the fullest and provide the tools for them to fulfill their roles as Muslims and responsible citizens.

We seek your support and prayers in this endeavor, for Allah, subhaanahu wa taala to make our joint efforts successful in raising generations of Muslims who shall follow in the footsteps of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), his illustrious Companion and their noble predecessors.
