Caring and Sharing
The Guyana Islamic Relief Organization (GIRO) is the Social Relief and Welfare arm of the GIT and provides Welfare and Humanitarian Aid programs for the benefit and upliftment of the poor and needy across Guyana. |
GIRO also gives emergency assistance and relief to persons affected by adverse circumstances, serious illness and natural or man-made disaster.
GIRO's welfare program covers a wide range of basic needs, including Medical Care, Food and Clothing Distribution, Circumcision clinics, Financial assistance to families in dire need as well as Loan assistance to eligible applicants, who are desirous of extending or setting up small businesses.
Operating through various districts across the regions, GIRO reaches out to even the poorest and more isolated communities, effecting a positive impact not only in the coastal or easily accessed areas, but rather in as many remote communities and settlements across Guyana.
